Episode III is unlike the others. It is a single movement work that represents a specific time in my family history. My father was diagnosed with brain cancer in two different areas and had to undergo several different treatments, chemotherapy, and surgery... in and out of the hospital for several months starting in the I.C.U. To some surprise from the physicians, he beat the odds, survived and recovered.

Our family went through a lot during that time; emotionally, spiritually, mentally, and physically.

This work represents the fragility, vulnerability, fear, and summoned strength of that time. Heartbeat is a reminder of our humanity and sense of being, especially in the face of mortality.
